💡How does Gator Work

Smart Routing

Gator will find the best rate to perform a swap across the pools in all the integrated DEXes. The routing algorithm handles all the necessary intermediate steps such as storage management, depositing and withdrawing from venues with a separate wallet, etc.

Currently Gator finds the best single venue to perform a swap. Soon we will add the ability for a route to hop through several venues and/or tokens.

Trade Splitting

With the upcoming feature of trade splitting, Gator will split your trade into smaller sizes to minimize market impact and slippage. For example, if you want to make a 100 USDC-AURORA trade, it may distribute your trade into 30 USDC-AURORA on Spin and 70 USDC-AURORA on Ref Finance.

The distribution is dynamically determined to give you the best price and maximally utilize the best liquidity in all the pools that Gator considers. Trade splitting is especially helpful for trades with a larger size or for tokens where the liquidity is spread thinly across many different DEXes.

Multi-transaction Trades

Gator works out all the necessary steps to perform a trade, for example, bridging tokens back and forth from Aurora (if there is better execution price in doing so), withdrawing from wallets of orderbook style DEXes, etc.
